- We'll walk your site, exploring how it fits into the surrounding topography, how the area to be disturbed fits on the property and what problems may have to be dealt with along the way.
- We'll consult with your Project Manager and Superintendent.
- We'll learn about your projected schedule and about the long term storm water management plans for the site.
- We'll find out about how solid waste will be handled as well as where the concrete and asphalt are coming from.
- These issues and a whole list of others from soil data to project ownership information will be addressed in our conversations.
- We'll gather the appropriate maps and plans and SWPPP related documents.
- Then we'll produce the Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan, being as careful about what's left out as we are about what goes in.
One thing we'll be sure gets left out is unnecessary temporary erosion controls. Full perimeter silt fencing for example, may make the most sense to the Civil Engineer who drew the SWPPP site plan without seeing the site — but it's often simply wasteful and not necessary. In short, we'll make sure that all the BMPs required to meet regulatory objectives are included, but we'll also keep in mind that keeping costs down is an equally important objective.
The end result is a Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan that makes sense, and one that protects your interests, as well as the environment.
